Yes. Additional drivers are allowed but must be added to the rental agreement at pickup and present a valid driving licence. Anyone who isn’t listed on the contract is not covered by the rental insurance. Every intended driver must be registered before leaving the rental desk.

No. Croatia does not use a vignette system for its own motorways (toll booths cover that instead). If your route into Croatia passes through a country (such as Slovenia or Hungary) that requires one, that vignette isn’t provided by Avia and is the driver’s responsibility to purchase before entering that country.

⚠️ Driving in Slovenia or Hungary without the local vignette can trigger an on-the-spot fine, separate from anything charged by Avia.

A full-to-full is usually offered when you collect the car and must return it full. Returning the car with less fuel triggers a €37.50 refuelling service fee plus the cost of the missing fuel. Filling up at the nearest gas station before drop-off is cheaper than letting the supplier do it, as the supplier usually charges a higher price than the market rate.

Automatics are available within Avia’s fleet, but as with most Croatian suppliers, manuals remain the default and automatics are in shorter supply. Book as early as possible if you specifically need an automatic vehicle.

Yes, but prior written authorisation is required before taking the vehicle outside Croatia. Cross-border travel is permitted to most EU countries and selected neighbouring non-EU countries for an additional fee.

Yes. A 59-minute grace period is given for late rental drop-off. An extra full rental day is charged for delayed returns after 59 minutes. Contact the supplier as soon as you expect any delays.
