What fuel policy applies to rental cars at Zagreb Bus Station?
The vast majority of rentals from Zagreb-area suppliers operate on a full-to-full policy. The vehicle is given with a full tank and must be returned full. This is the most common and economical procedure, provided you refuel before returning. Suppliers charge a higher-than-market rate for missing fuel, along with a service fee.

Can I return the car outside office hours at Zagreb Bus Station?
Unlike the 24-hour desks or key drop boxes at most airport locations, Zagreb bus station has no on-site car hire counters. City centre supplier offices operate within set business hours and usually require a staffed return inspection. Sometimes, an after-hours return service may be available with a few suppliers. You should confirm your supplier’s branch hours (generally 8:00–18:00 or 8:00–20:00 for most offices) directly and arrange the service in advance if required.
Some offices have a secure drop box for out-of-hours returns; damage inspection takes place the following morning. Even within stated hours, returning after the agreed time slot can trigger an extra day’s charge, depending on the grace period in your terms.
