Can I use a debit card to book a cross-border car rental?
A credit card is required for the security deposit hold rather than for payment itself. The card must be in the name of the primary driver listed on the rental agreement. A few select suppliers may accept debit card deposits, but with a higher deposit amount and additional insurance.

Can I add an extra driver to my rental?
Yes. You can add extra drivers to a car rental booking from Dubrovnik to Tirana for a daily fee or a flat charge per rental. Any additional drivers must meet the same licence and age requirements as the main driver. They must also be present at pickup with the required documentation and listed on the rental agreement for cross-border authorisation.

What is the minimum age to rent a car?
Most suppliers require drivers to be at least 21, with a licence held for one to two years. Drivers under 25 often pay a young driver surcharge. The amount varies by supplier and is typically around €5–10 per day. Some suppliers also set an upper age limit, commonly between 75 and 80, which can be lower for luxury or SUV categories.
